Since 2001, the National Committee ICC Romania has been operating within the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, consisting of Romanian companies and organizations from all economic sectors.

Through this membership, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) is the only entity coordinating the National Committee ICC Romania, under the direct guidance of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and following the model of other National Committees worldwide.

Through the National Committee ICC Romania, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) is a member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), a prestigious institution for the business community, with thousands of world-renowned companies and Chambers of Commerce from over 130 countries as its members.

The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) is a global business organization, the only representative entity that speaks with full authority on behalf of the international business community. In this capacity, it can address governments and international regulatory bodies to strengthen financial stability and protect entrepreneurs, aiming to develop a favorable business climate.

The main purpose and activity of the National Committee ICC Romania is to maintain a direct and permanent connection between the International Chamber of Commerce and the members of the National Committee ICC Romania, to centralize and harmonize the views of the business environment in Romania. Through these opinions, concrete proposals will be made to the Government of Romania, as well as to European and global institutions, through the communication channels specific to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), to develop a stable, predictable, and fair business environment that directly contributes to economic development.

Thus, a volunteer project is launched to bring together the business world in Romania, particularly the major taxpayers of Romania, whose collective voice must be harmonized and conveyed both nationally and internationally.

In this context, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, through the National Committee ICC Romania, intends to form an elite voluntary group of the Romanian business environment, by inviting all major taxpayers in Romania to join the National Committee ICC Romania.

The Role of the
National Committee
ICC Romania

The National Committee of ICC Romania will bring together different economic sectors and will act through appropriate means to promote a better understanding and implementation of the rules, codes, and practices established by the International Chamber of Commerce.

The National Committee of ICC Romania will support the Romanian business environment by offering the possibility to express and promote viewpoints regarding economic aspects or other matters that directly or indirectly affect the business community. These viewpoints may be included in position documents, which will then be supported by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania in front of all relevant public authorities (the Romanian Government, the Presidency of Romania, Ministries, Agencies, the Competition Council, etc.) and/or by the International Chamber of Commerce before renowned international bodies such as: the United Nations, the World Trade Organization, the European Union, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the International Monetary Fund, and the G20.

The National Committee of ICC Romania supports the adoption and implementation, at the national level, of the policies promoted by the International Chamber of Commerce by governmental authorities, administrative agencies, and other institutions.

ICC Romania will organize various volunteer activities aimed at raising awareness of the activities and products of the National Committee, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, and the International Chamber of Commerce. At the same time, services and information applicable to the needs of the business community will be provided.

Services

Services provided to the members of the National Committee of ICC Romania by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, as the coordinator of the National Committee of ICC, offers its members access to business information, services, invitations to events, and economic missions.
Interested members will receive details about foreign business opportunities and will have the chance to participate in economic missions. Invitations will also be sent for participation in international business-to-business meetings and all events, courses, and seminars organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania and the International Chamber of Commerce.

Among the services provided by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania is the National Business Information System (SNIA), an electronic platform that includes information about Romanian companies, requests and offers for products, services, and cooperation opportunities between Romanian and foreign companies, international tenders, investment projects, and national and international events.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania offers its members, at preferential rates, conference rooms, seminar spaces, or other event venues within the CCIR Business Center.

In addition to all the benefits provided by membership in the elite voluntary business community, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania offers ICC Romania members the following products for free:

ChamberTrust (a global trust certificate for business-to-business relationships)
ChamberTrust is one of the most important trust seal services used in business-to-business relationships worldwide and is a tool specific to international trade. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania validates objective information about companies (such as activity details, products, services, management, and online presence) and publishes a database on the World Chambers Network (WCN) website. Thus, the benefits of ChamberTrust for companies translate into exposure and impact on the global market.

Certification of the legal representative’s signature.

Being a member of the National Committee of ICC Romania provides preferential rates for all services offered by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania to its members, including:

  • Renting conference rooms at the CCIR Business Center.
  • Specific services of the National Business Information System (SNIA).
  • Issuance of certificates of origin.
  • Issuance of temporary admission books for goods exempt from customs duties (ATA).
  • Endorsement of international trade documents.
  • Publications issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania.
  • Registration in the Electronic Archive of Real Estate Collateral (AEGRM).
  • Certification services provided by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania’s partner, TüVKarpat.
  • Organizing events at the ROMEXPO exhibition center.
